Susan Boyle(5mins of Open Door) & friends, networks, everything ...changes!
An overnight success usually takes about ten years. Susan Boyle(47yrs) must have spent many days and nights getting there.
We should be people of strong wills, not strong won'ts. Many of the world's great failures did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up. Stopping at third base adds no more score than striking out.
Ignore what you're passionate about, and you ignore one of the greatest potentials inside you. Nothing significant was ever achieved without passion. Follow this success principle found in the book of Ecclesiastes: "whatever your hands find to do, do it with all your might." Mike Murdock said,"What generates passion and zeal in you is a clue to revealing your destiny. What you love is a clue to something you contain."

Critics; The Greater Devil !
The first and great commandment about critics is: don't let them scare you. No one can make you feel average without your permission. Charles Dodson said,"If you limit your actions in life to things that nobody could possibly find fault with, you will not do much." Nothing significant has ever been accomplished without controversy or criticism.
When you make your mark in life you always attract erasers. Dennis Wholey warned,"Expecting others to treat you fairly because you are a good person is like expecting a bull not to attack you because you are a vegetarian." I agree also with Fred Allen when he said,"If criticism had any real power to harm, the skunk would have been extinct by now." The thing is, when we allow other people's words to stop us, they eventually will. And it can be very painful when we come to the realization later on in life. Where we could have been, what we could have done, what we could have become! If only someone had not said,"...." And it's usually the words of someone really close or dear to us.
However, they may not mean any harm but a dream has been killed nevertheless because they do not believe in it. The key is not to depend on the permission of others though their opinion is been taken on board. The book of proverbs puts it right when it says,"The fear of man is a dangerous trap, but to trust in God means safety."

How To Handle Mistakes
Paul Galvin at the age of thirty-three had failed twice in business. He attended an auction of his own battery business. With his last $750, he bought back the battery eliminator portion of it. That part became Motorola. Upon his retirement in 1960's, he said,"Do not fear mistakes. You will know failure. Continue to reach out." George Bernard Shaw said, "A life spent making mistakes is more useful than a life spent doing nothing." To expect your life to be perfectly tailored to your specifications is to live a life full of continual frustration.
Not remembered for his failures but for his successes, inventor Thomas Edison reflected, "People are not remembered by how few times they failed, but by how often they succeed." Every wrong step can be another step forward. David Burns said,"Assert your right to make a few mistakes. If people can't accept your imperfection, my friend that's their fault.
Louis Boone said, "Don't fear failure so much that you refuse to try new things. The saddest summary of life contains three descriptions, could have, might have, and should have." Robert Schuller wrote,"Look at what you have left, never look at what you have lost." Oswald Avery advises, "Whenever you fall, pick something up." I believe this: we can always profit from our mistakes. If we learn from them, mistakes are very valuable. I recommend we cultivate this attitude and we will never be ashamed to try again after the last try. I know that can be really hard but it works most of the time. I wish every climber a successful try.Good luck.

Life's Little Annoyances
Don't let a relatively small setback ruin an otherwise
beautiful day. Choose instead to take it in stride and
quickly get back to being positive, productive and
effective.
Don't waste your time being outraged or offended by someone
else's careless, inconsiderate remark or gesture. Use the
opportunity to strengthen your valuable sense of patience,
and move on ahead to something that truly matters.
Life's little annoyances can quickly add up to have a big
negative and destructive impact if you let them.
Fortunately, you don't have to let them.
Instead, you can choose to let them go. You can decide to
see the small, relatively meaningless annoyances for what
they are, and move quickly beyond them.
Do you really want your attitude to be held hostage by rude,
careless, inconsiderate people or random events beyond your
control? Of course not, because within you is a positive
purpose that is big and beautiful and filled with real
meaning.
Each time one of life's little annoyances comes along, let
it just keep on going right past you until it fades away
into its own insignificance. You have plenty of much more
positive and valuable things upon which to focus your
attention.

To Live Is To Fly
Some time ago we heard a strange story. The pilot of a small transport plane said he had been caught in a one hundred and fifty-mile gale, which held his plane perfectly still. The motors were roaring, he claimed, but the plane was not moving an inch.
"It was weird" he concluded,"to be going one hundred and fifty miles an hour and yet not going anywhere at all!"
Sometimes we seem to be doing something very much like this. No matter how hard we push forward we seem to be getting no where at all. Then is the time to remember that he who does not try to go ahead is bound to find that he is going back.
If the pilot of the plane had shut off his motors, he would probably never have lived to tell the story. It was only because he made an effort to go forward that he was able to stand still!
So if it takes you all the running you can do to keep in one place...to get ahead with the current state of the economy, you may need to run twice as fast.

What's Your Credit
There's an ancient fable about the ant and the elephant crossing a bridge. The bridge shook under the weight of the elephant, and when the two reached the other side, the ant exclaimed: "we certainly did shake that bridge."
There is a strong temptation to claim credit for the things that are accomplished with little or no effort on our part.
One good way to avoid any exaggeration of the part we play is to work as hard as we can and seek no credit.
We should leave it to God to judge and give us our due.The recompense He will far outweigh any worldly compensation.
Even when the role we play is small, we should be assured in the eyes of God, it is an important one. We should neither underestimate nor overestimate it.
"Be not therefore solicitous for tomorrow; for tomorrow will be solicitous for itself." Matthew,6:34
