Susan Boyle(5mins of Open Door) & friends, networks, everything ...changes!

An overnight success usually takes about ten years. Susan Boyle(47yrs) must have spent many days and nights getting there.

We should be people of strong wills, not strong won'ts. Many of the world's great failures did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up. Stopping at third base adds no more score than striking out.

Ignore what you're passionate about, and you ignore one of the greatest potentials inside you. Nothing significant was ever achieved without passion. Follow this success principle found in the book of Ecclesiastes: "whatever your hands find to do, do it with all your might." Mike Murdock said,"What generates passion and zeal in you is a clue to revealing your destiny. What you love is a clue to something you contain."

Critics; The Greater Devil !

The first and great commandment about critics is: don't let them scare you. No one can make you feel average without your permission. Charles Dodson said,"If you limit your actions in life to things that nobody could possibly find fault with, you will not do much." Nothing significant has ever been accomplished without controversy or criticism.

When you make your mark in life you always attract erasers. Dennis Wholey warned,"Expecting others to treat you fairly because you are a good person is like expecting a bull not to attack you because you are a vegetarian." I agree also with Fred Allen when he said,"If criticism had any real power to harm, the skunk would have been extinct by now." The thing is, when we allow other people's words to stop us, they eventually will. And it can be very painful when we come to the realization later on in life. Where we could have been, what we could have done, what we could have become! If only someone had not said,"...." And it's usually the words of someone really close or dear to us.

However, they may not mean any harm but a dream has been killed nevertheless because they do not believe in it. The key is not to depend on the permission of others though their opinion is been taken on board. The book of proverbs puts it right when it says,"The fear of man is a dangerous trap, but to trust in God means safety."

How To Handle Mistakes

Paul Galvin at the age of thirty-three had failed twice in business. He attended an auction of his own battery business. With his last $750, he bought back the battery eliminator portion of it. That part became Motorola. Upon his retirement in 1960's, he said,"Do not fear mistakes. You will know failure. Continue to reach out." George Bernard Shaw said, "A life spent making mistakes is more useful than a life spent doing nothing." To expect your life to be perfectly tailored to your specifications is to live a life full of continual frustration.

Not remembered for his failures but for his successes, inventor Thomas Edison reflected, "People are not remembered by how few times they failed, but by how often they succeed." Every wrong step can be another step forward. David Burns said,"Assert your right to make a few mistakes. If people can't accept your imperfection, my friend that's their fault.

Louis Boone said, "Don't fear failure so much that you refuse to try new things. The saddest summary of life contains three descriptions, could have, might have, and should have." Robert Schuller wrote,"Look at what you have left, never look at what you have lost." Oswald Avery advises, "Whenever you fall, pick something up." I believe this: we can always profit from our mistakes. If we learn from them, mistakes are very valuable. I recommend we cultivate this attitude and we will never be ashamed to try again after the last try. I know that can be really hard but it works most of the time. I wish every climber a successful try.Good luck.

Life's Little Annoyances

Don't let a relatively small setback ruin an otherwise
beautiful day. Choose instead to take it in stride and
quickly get back to being positive, productive and
effective.

Don't waste your time being outraged or offended by someone
else's careless, inconsiderate remark or gesture. Use the
opportunity to strengthen your valuable sense of patience,
and move on ahead to something that truly matters.

Life's little annoyances can quickly add up to have a big
negative and destructive impact if you let them.
Fortunately, you don't have to let them.

Instead, you can choose to let them go. You can decide to
see the small, relatively meaningless annoyances for what
they are, and move quickly beyond them.

Do you really want your attitude to be held hostage by rude,
careless, inconsiderate people or random events beyond your
control? Of course not, because within you is a positive
purpose that is big and beautiful and filled with real
meaning.

Each time one of life's little annoyances comes along, let
it just keep on going right past you until it fades away
into its own insignificance. You have plenty of much more
positive and valuable things upon which to focus your
attention.

To Live Is To Fly

Some time ago we heard a strange story. The pilot of a small transport plane said he had been caught in a one hundred and fifty-mile gale, which held his plane perfectly still. The motors were roaring, he claimed, but the plane was not moving an inch.

"It was weird" he concluded,"to be going one hundred and fifty miles an hour and yet not going anywhere at all!"

Sometimes we seem to be doing something very much like this. No matter how hard we push forward we seem to be getting no where at all. Then is the time to remember that he who does not try to go ahead is bound to find that he is going back.

If the pilot of the plane had shut off his motors, he would probably never have lived to tell the story. It was only because he made an effort to go forward that he was able to stand still!

So if it takes you all the running you can do to keep in one place...to get ahead with the current state of the economy, you may need to run twice as fast.

What's Your Credit

There's an ancient fable about the ant and the elephant crossing a bridge. The bridge shook under the weight of the elephant, and when the two reached the other side, the ant exclaimed: "we certainly did shake that bridge."

There is a strong temptation to claim credit for the things that are accomplished with little or no effort on our part.

One good way to avoid any exaggeration of the part we play is to work as hard as we can and seek no credit.

We should leave it to God to judge and give us our due.The recompense He will far outweigh any worldly compensation.

Even when the role we play is small, we should be assured in the eyes of God, it is an important one. We should neither underestimate nor overestimate it.

"Be not therefore solicitous for tomorrow; for tomorrow will be solicitous for itself." Matthew,6:34

The Choice Is Still Yours

To those who think it is enough to know what is right and simply avoid doing anything wrong,Emerson has something to say.In one of his essays occurs the following profound sentence: "God offers to every mind it's choice between truth and repose. Take which you please-you can never have both."

Most of us would like to disbelieve the truth. There is no denying that comfort is more better than work. But we have to admit that knowing what is right implies the obligation to spread the knowledge.

And, as a matter of fact, many people who have fought "the good fight" with unceasing zeal testify to the abiding satisfaction, the deep contentment that is the reward of struggle.

"It is better to wear out than to rust out" Richard Cumberland.

Choices

It is easy to be miserable. It is just as easy to be happy.
Being miserable will nourish and support your ego. Being happy will bring peace and fulfillment to your spirit.
Being miserable can be very dramatic, complicated and sophisticated. It can make you appear quite impressive to other people.

Being happy, on the other hand, is an _expression of simplicity and freedom and joy. Chances are others could be suspicious or resentful.

Once you have chosen to be miserable, it will require a great deal of energy and effort to maintain that state of misery. By contrast, when you choose happiness, that happiness actually brings additional energy and positive passion to your life.

The choice between happiness and misery is one you make in each moment, over and over again, day after day. Whether you're happy or whether you're miserable is completely up to you.

The whole point of being alive is to evolve into the complete person you were intended to be. ~ Oprah Winfrey

Why Worry

Here's a simple, easy way to make an immediate and profound improvement in the quality of your life. Stop worrying.

The next time you catch yourself wrapping your mind around a worry, choose to let that worry fall completely away. Notice how much more positive and effective you suddenly are.

Worry poisons your thoughts and keeps life's best opportunities hidden from you. Worry actually increases the power and influence of those undesirable things you worry about.

Certainly it's important to look clearly and realistically at life's dangers, problems and challenges. Yet there is nothing to be gained by worrying about them.

Choose to replace each negative worry with positive action. Instead of looking down, pick yourself up and move forward.

Every moment is filled with countless opportunities to create lasting value. Stop worrying, and start living with richness, purpose and real joy.

Set Yourself Free

There is no outside force holding you back. You are holding yourself back and you are blaming it on someone or something else.

The way you are able to continue holding yourself back is by maintaining the illusion that you're a victim. Once you release that illusion, you will naturally and easily move forward.

In fact, it is easier to fulfill your best possibilities than it is to avoid them. So let go of the blame and watch the limitations drop away.

Certainly there will always be challenges, and yet it is not the challenges that hold you back. For each challenge provides you with a pathway through which you can move toward fulfillment.

It is your very nature to accomplish. Lovingly accept your destiny, and allow that accomplishment to be manifest through you.

Set yourself free to follow your purpose. Set yourself free to truly live.

Easy Ways To Raise Income

Income is usually raised by doing one or both of two things; income could be raised by buying and selling or by providing a service to a target audience.

However, what is income? Answers.com defines income as the amount of money or its equivalent received during a period of time in exchange for labor or services, from the sale of goods or property, or as profit from financial investments.
Furthermore, there are other forms of raising income which are not so popular as the ones mentioned above.i.e.

Interest generated from the bank;Saving money in the bank helps a lot of businesses generate income through the interest accrued overtime. This usually take a while, maybe months or even years, but as long as the process of the deposition of savings is continuous and constant, the result is always fabulous.

Interest generated from lending; Some businesses also take advantage of their revenue or cash surplus by acting as a lending agent to organizations or small time businesses for the purpose of charging them an interest which should be payed back either installmentally or by buying a stake in business so that they can always benefit from the profit made by the business.

Debtor fines; This form of income raise is mostly common in the banking sector where borrowers are fined for not making repayment on time. This also helps the lender to raise more money as a benefit for the disappointment of late repayment by the borrower.

Income generated from fund raising; This is probably the easiest way of raising income. Although it may not come easily but because you may not need to pay back the money given to you because the key contributors are mostly philanthropist who like to give back to their societies by donating to a good cause. However, they usually want to know that their money is in save hands and spent according to the presented business plan. So that there are no discrepancies.

Contributions; This is usually common in local communities where specific group of people who know one another form a club or co-operative. The members of these groups contribute money on a regular basis, save it in a bank under the name of the group or club or co-operative as the case may be until they have a specific project for which the income generated would be put to use.

Yes We Can; Characteristics Of Change

When Barak Obama used the word "Change" as a focus for his campaign it was not as though we had not heard the word before but it came at a time when the world needed something entirely different from what we were used to, a hand that would reshape our world, our economy, our lives except that we could not name it all even though we could identify the bits of what we needed in our lives i.e poverty alleviation, health issues, bla, bla, bla.
However, the word change soffices to stand for everything that we need; at least for now until change disappoints us again but we hope not.Not soon. But eventually it will, when we hit a new phase and the old must be cast away, then another form of change becomes necessary. I hereby present to you some key attributes change:

  • Change is constant and must not stop.It involves move thereby, capable of being forceful.
  • Once change stops, we stop growing and decay begins.
  • Change could be little but the influence could also be massive.
  • Change is quick and rapid.
  • Change is perversive-It is relative; If it happens in USA, it will soon happen in Europe, Asia, Africa, etc.It affects the rest of us in a way either directly or indirectly.
  • Change can't be changed or stopped. It must change itself and others and those others-"others".

Seven Cures For A Lean Purse

  1. Start Thy Purse To Fattening; For every ten coins that thou placest within thy purse take out for use but nine. Thy purse will start to fatten at once and it's increasing weight will feel good in thy hand and bring satisfaction to thy soul.
  2. Control Thy Expenditures; Confuse not thy necessary expenses with thy desires...All men are burdened with more desires than they can gratify...as weeds grow in a field wherever the farmer leaves space for there roots, even so freely do desires grow in men whenever there is a possibility of their being gratified.Budget then thy necessary expenses.Touch not the one tenth that is fattening thy purse. Let this be thy great desire that is being fulfilled.
  3. Make Thy Gold Multiply; How therefore may we put our gold to work?Gold increaseth rapidly when making reasonable earnings as thou wilt see from the following: A farmer, when his first son was born , took ten pieces of silver to a money lender and asked him to keep it on rental for his son until he became twenty years of age. This money lender did, and agreed the rental should be one-fourth of it's value each four years. The farmer asked, because this sum he had set aside as belonging to his son, that the rent be added to the principal. When the boy had reached the age of twenty years, the farmer again went to the money lender to inquire about the silver. The money lender explained that because this sum had been increased by compound interest, the original ten pieces of half silver had grown to thirty and one-half pieces. The farmer was well pleased...thus in fifty years had the investment multiplied itself at rental almost seventeen times. This then is the third cure for a lean purse: to put each coin to labouring that it may reproduce it's kind even as the flocks of the field and help bring to thee income, a stream of wealth that shall flow constantly into thy purse.
  4. Guard Thy Treasure From Loss; Every owner of gold is tempted by opportunities whereby it would seem that he could make large sums by it's investment in most plausible project. The first sound principle of investment is security for thy principal. Is it wise to be intrigued by larger earnings when thy principal may be lost? The penalty of risk is probable loss.
  5. Make of Thy Dwelling A Profitable Investment; No man's family can fully enjoy life unless they do have a plot of ground wherein children can play in the clean earth and where the wife may raise not only blossoms but good rich herbs to feed her family. Therefore, do I recommend that every man own the roof that sheltereth him and his family.
  6. Insure A Future Income; Provide in advance for the needs of thy old age and the protection of thy family.
  7. Increaseth Thy Ability to Earn; General desires are but weak longings. For a man to wish to be rich is a little purpose. For a man to desire five pieces of gold is a tangible desire which press to fulfillment. After he has backed his desire for five pieces of gold with strength of purpose to secure it, next he can find similar ways of obtaining to obtain ten pieces and then twenty pieces and later a thousand and, behold, he has become wealthy. In learning to secure his one definite small desire, he hath trained himself to secure a larger one. This is the process by which wealth is accumulated: first in small sums, then in larger ones.

How To Be Happy

A renowned Italian poet, Torquanto Tasso, was once visiting at the court of King Charles IX, and in the course of a conversation one day the monarch raised the following question:
"Who in your opinion is the happiest person alive?"
"God is the happiest of all beings," was the prompt reply.
"Yes, of course," said the king."But who is the happiest person alive after God?"
The poet thought for a moment;then he gave this profound reply:
"I suppose the happiest person after God is the one who becomes most like God."

Look Within

There is a story of a man searching for his lost key outside his home, under the streetlight. When a stranger inquired if she could help him look for his lost key, he was most grateful. After thirty minutes of fruitless searching, the stranger asked," where did you drop your key?""Oh" he replied, "I dropped it inside the house.""But why are you looking outside under the street lamp if you dropped it inside the house?" She asked."I have no light inside the house, so I came out here to look where there is light."

This is precisely what we do every time we look outside of ourselves for solutions to problems. We live inside, our humanity resides within, yet we spend time ceaselessly looking outside of ourselves for the answers because we fail to illuminate the inside with our thoughts. We resist the principle that thought is everything we are, because it seems easier to look inside.

-Dr Wayne Dyer
